The Rural Education Network and London G&T have been facilitating and leading a 3 year project between the Independent and Maintained School sectors to work in partnership to meet the needs of G&T pupils in MFL.  

Students and teachers from 20 schools across several local authorities and boroughs, worked collaboratively to develop a learning environment that offered challenge and depth to learning a modern foreign language.

The project funded by the DFE, Building Brides programme has enabled The Rural Education Network and London Gifted and Talented to develop and extend the thinking around the needs of able, gifted and talented linguists. 

We are able to share with other collaborations and partnerships, schools and departments the transferable principles, professional development programme and classroom resources from our project to help others understand some of the following issues we set out to address:
