Introduction

Originally the DFE established regional partnerships based on local government offices in England to consider the needs of G&T young people, it also recognised the need to establish a national group to consider issues that are relevant to rural schools and their pupils who have been identified as the most able.

The Rural Education Network continues to support rural and isolated schools, their pupils, parents and communities to ensure they have access to provision which challenges and enriches their learning experiences in order for them to achieve.

We will maintain and develop partnerships across England to work with those responsible and able to develop educational provision and resources for isolated and rural schools and their learners.
